KRZYSZTOF TEODOROWICZ
Cinema has been my greatest passion since my youth, when I spent evenings in the legendary cinemas of Łódź, such as Włókniarz (The Fiberman), Świt (The Dawn), and Tatry. These were the places where my cinematic sensitivity took shape. After a few years in London, I returned with over 100 kg of VHS tapes filled with film classics (yes, I still keep them because, well, how could I throw them away when they so beautifully collect dust?). I adore auteur cinema, British and Asian films, as well as horror, Italian giallo, and film noir. My masters include Kubrick, Wong Kar Wai, Tarkovsky, Argento and Kawalerowicz.
CHARLIE
For the past few years, I’ve been programming and managing Kino Charlie – one of Poland’s most significant arthouse cinemas, operating continuously for nearly 30 years. With eight screening rooms, Charlie is a true cinema giant, but one with the soul of an artist. It’s a place where, beyond movies, you can experience pre-premiere screenings, workshops, outdoor screenings, regular film events, and local editions of festivals like Millenium Docs Against Gravity and the LGBT+ Film Festival. For instance – recently, together with a renowned critic and film scholar Diana Dąbrowska, we run the “Cinema with Diana Dąbrowska” series, where we’ve held over 60 editions dedicated to premieres followed by fantastic discussions.
CINERGIA
Charlie Cinema was also home to the CINERGIA European Cinema Forum, the oldest film festival in Łódź, which ran continuously for over 20 years until 2019. I had the opportunity to work during three of its editions, booking films for the program, coordinating film copies and ocasionally translating subtitles. Cinema is an endless adventure filled with the magic of celluloid, and I’m thrilled to share it with others!

RECOMMENDATIONS
I have collaborated with Krzysztof for over seven years, in relation to kino Charlie’s membership obligations towards the Europa Cinemas network. Our collaboration has always been swift and accurate. The information flow is quick and precise. Moreover, the information transmitted (not disclosing here any private data) seen from a bigger distance, testifies for Krzysztof’s high ability of dealing with all aspects of cultural management, event organising and cinema programming. Krzysztof’s work is elemental to kino Charlie being one of the best art-house cinemas in Poland. Krzysztof would be a valuable asset for any company or organisation that would like to work with him.

My screenings with discussions at Charlie Cinema are incredibly important to me. I put a lot of heart and effort into it, often traveling to Łódź specifically for this. I’m truly committed to building a community of cinema enthusiasts who are eager to share their impressions and sensibilities after the screenings. If you have the time and interest, I encourage you to check out the pre-premiere screenings that I, along with the invaluable Krzysztof Teodorowicz, have organized.

His team management and institutional promotion skills have undoubtedly contributed to building a loyal audience and securing multiple external grants.

A man of both cinema and the music scene! His exceptional knowledge in both areas benefits both filmgoers and concert attendees alike. Knowledgeable and experienced, with a refined demeanor, excellent Polish, and fluent English—all these qualities make a conversation with Krzysztof Teodorowicz a true pleasure. And that style! David Bowie once strolled through Warsaw, while “Teodor” strolls through Łódź and Kraków.

I’ve collaborated with Krzysztof multiple times during WFO festival screenings at the Educational Film Studio, including events like Millennium Docs Against Gravity, Cinematic Beauty of the City of Łódź, and my own screenings. Krzysztof is a trustworthy event organizer, involved in every detail, handling it with professionalism and care. As a frequent guest and audience member at Charlie Cinema, I’d also like to highlight his unique curatorial contribution to the programming and rich repertoire of this exceptional cultural venue in Łódź and Poland.
