KRZYSZTOF

KRZYSZTOF TEODOROWICZ

Music (though not necessarily the kind with classical harmony) has always fueled my heart. It began with a “Kapral” cassette player and pirate tapes (we were cut off from the world in 80’s) of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Stranglers from the few private music stores in Communist Poland. I started my first punk band with friends in the mid-’80s, just after primary school, mainly to annoy the neighbors in our block of flats on Koziny in Łódź… Later, in high school, there were another bands, rehearsals, few concerts, even some recordings, though ultimately, I shifted to writing about music and supporting independent artists. Eventually my musical passion found its way to Kino Charlie, where I organized music concerts in the cinema hall. But before that…

MEGATOTAL

It was created by music enthusiasts from the SFERA agency in Łódź in 2007. I was part of that team. It was a portal that enabled independent artists to raise funds for album releases through crowdfunding. Fans financed artists’ projects, becoming co-publishers of the albums and receiving rewards and shares in their success. The portal promoted independent music often overlooked by major labels. It gained popularity among alternative music fans and emerging artists. It ceased operations in 2016, mainly due to the rise of streaming, but many artists who emerged from it continue their careers.

MUSIC LABEL

I had the incredible joy of being the heart of the community of fans and musicians. As the site manager, I took care of projects from the very beginning of the funding process all the way to the finalization — meaning album releases, music video productions, and their subsequent promotion. We were also a small music label. Thanks to the support of the people I was in contact with as well as the substantive support from independent, debuting artists, we ultimately managed to release nearly 100 music publications and produce few music videos. The album “30 Days of Chaos” by the group Little White Lies, released by MegaTotal.pl, was awarded the 2014 Łódź Album of the Year in a poll by Gazeta Wyborcza (biggest Polish daily).

MEGATONY

I enjoy sharing my musical fascinations with the world. During the time when the MegaTotal.pl platform was active we also wrote a lot about music, editing the music blog Megazin. Nowadays I am co-editing the music magazine MegaTony.pl along with my friends. This medium aims to bring attention to new musical phenomena while also reminding people about those significant but somewhat forgotten.

5. OF MY KEY SKILLS IN MUSIC INDUSTRY

RECOMMENDATIONS

I have known Krzysztof for many years, and I have had the pleasure of working with him numerous times. We have brainstormed, created, and organized together. Everything always worked out. Krzysztof is a trustworthy, diligent, and incredibly organized person. I recommend him 100%.

Katarzyna Andrzejewska-Szuba

Producer, artistic manager, booking manager

As part of the crowdfunding project for the Megatotal.pl label, Krzysztof was responsible for community management and organizing the production of music releases. His commitment, proactive approach, knowledge of the industry’s realities and intricacies, and organizational skills significantly contributed to the success of both the artists and the service itself.

Aleksander Pawlak

SFERA / Client Service Director, co-founder MegaTotal.pl

Krzysztof is also a connoisseur and expert in music, as well as a keen observer and reviewer of pop culture and alternative culture. His involvement in creating a record label years ago demonstrates that he possesses not only extensive knowledge but also practical experience, which is absolutely essential for working in culture-related sectors.
